– Bread slices – 4
– Boiled potatoes – 2 medium
– Green chili (finely chopped) – 1
– Coriander leaves (chopped) – 1 tbsp

– Salt – as per taste
– Gram flour (besan) – 1 cup
– Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
– Carom seeds (ajwain) – ¼ tsp
– Water – as needed to make batter
– Oil – for deep frying

Steps for making bread pakora

Step 1: Prepare the Potato Filling

Mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl and add finely chopped green chili, coriander leaves, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to make a spicy and tasty stuffing. This forms the flavorful center of your stuffed bread pakora.

Step 2: Make the Besan Batter
In another bowl, take gram flour (besan) and mix in turmeric, ajwain, salt, and enough water to make a smooth and thick batter. Make sure there are no lumps. This besan batter gives your bread pakora its crispy outer coating.

Step 3: Assemble the Pakoras

Once the oil is hot (you can test by dropping a little batter — if it rises immediately, it's ready), dip each stuffed bread piece in the besan batter, coat it evenly, and gently slide it into the oil. Fry 2–3 pakoras at a time on medium heat, turning occasionally, until they turn golden brown and crispy. Avoid high flame, as it may burn the outside while leaving the inside uncooked.

Step 5: Serve Crispy and Hot
Take out the fried bread pakoras and place them on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve them hot with mint chutney, imli chutney, or ketchup. These crispy bread pakoras are perfect for tea time, especially during monsoons or winters.
